for cultural organisations, entrepreneurs and makers.

With 17 years in the creative industries, and a career spanning music, tv, festivals, crafts, creative advertising and retail, it’s safe to say I’ve picked up a very broad range of skills.

With half of my work in the creative and visual, and the other in the organisational and practical, I’m pretty versatile - I really love adapting and throwing myself into something new, learning lots and adding even more to my list of skills!

I’ve worked with numerous cultural institutions, in a creative and organisational capacity, but also work alongside this with artists themselves, gaining a valuable insight into their world from both sides.

In my spare time, I enjoy renovating and rescuing old things, and I’m currently turning an old community bus into a tiny home on wheels.

Hullo! I’m Emily

Some career highlights

I’ve been lucky enough to work on this project from its early stages. For the last 2 years, London Made Me has taken creatives from London’s Creative Enterprise Zones and given them the tools they need to take their products to the high street. An incredibly useful experience for each cohort, the programme includes teaching, shop building and trading phases, with mentor support throughout.

My roles have included:

Project coordination, logistics and events, shop build assistant (including prop-sourcing, decorating and space styling), graphic design and art-working, supporting the project and creative directors, shop inventory management in POS software.

Founded to revolutionise souvenirs, and create a central London location to sell artists work, We Built This City was a phenomenal project to be involved with.

Changing locations on Carnaby Street numerous times, and with a rapidly expanding catalogue of artist’s work to sell online, the project required constant learning and adapting across the practical, creative and organisational - which I utterly loved!

My roles included:

Product mockups, photo editing, creating content for social, presentation design, inventory management across Shopify and Vend, finance assisting with shop builds and events, shop floor assistant, direct support to the founder and management team.

It was a childhood dream come true to work at Liberty. Joining the marketing and events team, I was thrilled to find the role had as broad a scope as I wanted it to. During my time there, I took great pleasure doing everything from presenting talks with brands like Matthew Williamson and William Morris, to working with the VM team to style parts of the store.

My roles included:

Project managing events - sometimes holding multiple events at once, graphics and design, visual merchandising and styling, assisting on shoots, hosting talks, copy-writing

With initiatives set up to improve access to music, art and hand-made items, the projects I worked on for Creative United were really close to my heart.

I was tasked with re-designing the company’s whole suite of newsletters across 3 different brand identities and then compiling them each month, getting to combine my skills in design and copy-writing.

I also worked on Creative United’s new programme - Made Possible - set up to give people access to hand-crafted items. I was thrilled to get to design the brand identity for Made Possible, as well as undertaking a research project into crafts people, prior to the scheme launching.

I enjoyed incredible experiences in the music, tv and festival industries working for Blink. We filmed hundreds of bands and multiple festivals each year, and produced music videos, animations and graphics for huge industry names - The Specials, Heaven 17 and Kylie to name a few.

My roles included:

Production coordinator / runner /driver on many live events, marketing design, web-page building, video editing, finance and admin.

I still get a huge buzz working in TV, and continue to work on selected projects in my spare time.
